Why are you considering personal branding photography?
That sounds like a pretty obvious question to ask and the answer varies from “because I’m building a new website and my web designer said it’d look best with professional photography” (which is of course true) to “I need content to post on social media” as it’s exhausting thinking of what to post all the time.
Both answers are common and completely valid. But let’s think a bit deeper.

If you’re solving a problem, what is it? Are you looking for more enquiries? Or are you wanting to stand out (which may actually be the same thing when we boil it down) or are you working on establishing your brand and want to get the story out there so that the clients you know you’re right for can start to tune into you.
When it comes down to it, the reason for your session needs to guide your personal branding session.
Personal branding can be used to communicate with your clients
We can’t possibly be everywhere in person, but we are often in lots of places on the same day online. So what do you need your brand to say?
Perhaps more importantly the question should be “what do you want your ideal clients to perceive about you?”
Personal branding allows you to tell your story in a way that connects
Know, like an trust. We feel connected to people we feel we know, that we like and of course we wouldn't do business with someone we didn’t trust.
Getting to that stage doesn’t need to be hard.
Put simply, we usually like people that feel ‘like us’. We trust people who do what they say thery’re going to do when they do it. That deliver on their promises.
So in short, showing up and doing what we say we’re going to do and letting people know we’re doing it goes a long way. What becomes harder is the execution of that.
Don’t like selling? Your personal branding images do that for you
This is often the best bit of news for most people. It’s true though. By being able to SHOW your clients how working with you will look, they will be able to visualise themselves doing the same. Trust. ✅ By sharing the story of your PERSONAL brand, they can get to know you. Know. ✅. This can lead them to decide whether they like you, if they’d like working with you. Like. ✅
