A personal branding photoshoot is usually driven by need rather than desire
Our need for a personal branding photography puts it in a different category to a personal/family photoshoot. When we’ve convinced ourselves it’s not a time sensitive task it’s easy to put it off until we’ve lost a few pounds/grown our fringe out/the sun is shining/Tommy’s teeth gap has grown in, you get the drift. ‘Someday’ invariably never comes but we have a script we can hide behind.
In our businesses we don’t get that luxury. Most of us NEED an online presence, be that a website or social media platforms. Our web designer probably told us we need professional looking images to make our website look polished and we’re fed up of scrabbling around for archaic snaps of us to try to populate our social media. We fundamentally know that a personal branding photoshoot will help our business but suddenly we’re faced with RIGHT NOW rather than ‘one day’. Yikes!
90% of my clients feel nervous before their personal branding photoshoot
I guess I could tell you that from our first conversation my clients feel at ease and their nerves vanished, but that wouldn't be the whole truth. YES, my clients book me as they know they’re in safe hands and logically they understand that they’ll get the results they need for their business. But, and it’s a big ‘but’, that illogical part of our brains, that pesky niggly section that annoys us from time to time still won’t settle until it’s been well and truly satisfied. Even then it might still feel a little apprehensive. One understandable concern is whether the investment will be worth it, so my blog on how to maximise your ROI from your personal branding photoshoot might be useful, but it might not be that, it could just be fear of what might happen.
How do we turn personal branding photoshoot nerves into excitement?
Planning! When we know what to expect we can’t fear the fear the unknown. We’ll also get to know each other so much better throughout the planning process which adds another layer of comfort to the scenario. We have many contact points before I ever pick up a camera with you.
Initial phone enquiry
Initial planning call
Final planning call to discuss your questionnaire and confirm logistics
We’ll also be in touch via email and often Pinterest through the process!
Surprises are for birthdays, not personal branding photoshoots!
The reason we plan is so that you KNOW, deep within every fibre of your being that I ‘get’ you. You know we’re on the same page. We’re talking the same language and together we are going to bring your vision, your BRAND to life! We get to influence the perception our potential clients have of us and our business, so let’s make sure that when our audience starts to answer the fundamental two questions everyone has when they first meet someone, they form the right conclusions!
I am a planner by nature, so this is just something I do. If planning is your idea of torture, I’ll be honest, I’m probably not your dream photographer!! 😂. If however you’re reading this feeling like you’ve just found your secret long lost-twin, get in touch as we can create some amazing marketing content together!
