Newborn photography is an art form
Like all art, you need to love it to want to own it and beautiful newborn photography images are no different. We all have a different style, with different tastes and preferences and as a result we dress differently and our homes are a unique reflection of us.
My newborn photography clients book me for MY style
A quick look at my work will show you that I have a ‘style’ of newborn photography. I like soft and airy images that speak to the purity and innocence of a precious new baby. That said, I’m not prescriptive in what we do in your session. This is about you, for you and we work together to fulfil your desired outcome.
How will you display the images from your newborn photography session?
This is a vital part of the planning process and to a greater extend guides how I set up your newborn photography session. If you’re looking for an album we will ensure I capture lots of tiny details that show your baby exactly how they are at that fleeting moment in time. Those tiny fingers curled around yours will be running off to school before you know it!
If you’re looking for a family portrait that includes the whole family, we’ll make sure we spend time capturing that perfect shot. If you’ve set your heart on a specific pose that you’d like of your baby, I’ll make sure that’s the focus.
Where in your home will you display your newborn photography images?
Most clients love the naked baby poses (where all their private parts are hidden, naturally) as this shows every single tiny detail of their tint new form, including the gorgeously squishy rolls and teens tiny toes. Many choose to keep these private for display in the nursery or master bedroom. Areas of the home that are restricted to those nearest and dearest to us.
If you would like to display the images in a more public area, your baby can be wrapped or dressed in one of my many stunning outfits designed specifically for newborn photographers.
We’ll match your newborn photography images to the style of your home
The colours, tones, textures and props we use will be influenced heavily by the rooms in your home that you’d like to display your images in. This is all part of the planning process and what makes the pre-session consultation so valuable. We get to plan every single detail so that the newborn photographs I create for you are exactly as you’d hoped. So whilst it’s true that I’m chosen for my own style, I also make sure to blend it with yours so that you have a selection of images that you love and will treasure forever.
